Bühler Technologies at WindEnergy 2018

Efficient use of wind turbines requires full condition monitoring. This is where keeping hydraulic fluids and lubricants clean with qualified filtration systems is key.

The filters not only remove the solids which increase wear but at the same time also serve as a sensor, since in a tribological sense these particles are nothing than the result of the system-related 'wear margin'. So in mechanical systems the filters 'measure' the inevitable wear of friction partners.

Since depending on the conditions in and under which the parts are used, this process is not necessarily even and in can even spike greatly due to spontaneous incidents, the filters require continuous monitoring. The signals emitted are at the same time a status report for the fluid circuit along with reporting the remaining capacity of the filter elements, thus a parameter for planning service.

At the upcoming WindEnergy trade show Bühler Technologies will be presenting a new sensor for this challenging monitoring task. The Ratingen specialist for hydraulic and lubrication system sensors will further be showing its well-established product line for monitoring temperature, liquid levels and pressure, as well as cooling and filtration.
