Peristaltic Pumps for High-Purity Oxygen Applications

Bühler Technologies offers specially cleaned pumps for the safe transfer of condensate and precise dosing in oxygen-enriched environments.

Ratingen – As hydrogen continues to gain importance as an energy carrier, oxygen is increasingly attracting attention as a valuable by-product of electrolysis. In the production of hydrogen through electrolysis, high-purity oxygen (O₂) is generated alongside hydrogen (H₂) and can be utilized in a wide range of industrial processes. Due to its strong oxidizing properties, oxygen places stringent requirements on the materials, components, and cleanliness of the equipment used.

To meet these demanding requirements, Bühler Technologies offers specially designed peristaltic pumps from the CP Single and CP Double series. Originally developed for reliable condensate removal in gas sample conditioning systems, these pumps are equally suited for dosing applications across various industrial processes.

Reliably Meeting High Purity Requirements

All wetted materials used in the pumps have been carefully evaluated for compatibility with high oxygen concentrations. In addition, the components undergo a dedicated cleaning process during manufacturing to remove particles as well as oil and grease residues. The permissible residual contamination levels are based on the internationally recognized EIGA Doc 33/18 standard, “Cleaning of Equipment for Oxygen Service.”

Flexible Configurations and Easy Maintenance

The pumps are available as the CP Single with one pumping channel or the CP Double with two pumping channels. Both versions can be supplied with or without a protective housing, allowing straightforward integration into existing systems.

Their maintenance-friendly design enables quick replacement of pump tubing, helping to minimize service times and maximize system availability.

With these peristaltic pumps specifically engineered for oxygen-rich applications, Bühler Technologies further expands its portfolio of components for demanding processes in gas analysis technology and the hydrogen economy.
