Sustainable and future-proof cooling with RC gas coolers

Legal requirements for refrigerants are changing – and we are taking early steps to provide a future-proof and sustainable solution.
The previous compressor gas coolers in the EGK series use the fluorinated refrigerant R134a (GWP 1450). Regulation (EU) 2024/573 significantly restricts the use of fluorinated refrigerants (F-gases) and provides for their gradual phase-out in the long term. In addition, a planned PFAS ban under the REACH Regulation could render the use of many fluorinated refrigerants entirely impossible in the future.
Our solution: the new RC series
Since 2025, we have been gradually converting our compressor gas coolers to the new RC series. This series uses the natural refrigerant R600a (isobutane) – an environmentally friendly and future-proof alternative with a Global Warming Potential (GWP) close to zero.
As part of this transition, you benefit not only from a regulation-compliant solution but also from targeted technical and digital enhancements.

Availability:
The new RC compressor gas coolers with R600a are available to order now.
The conversion of Ex coolers (EGK 2A Ex and EGK 1 Ex 2) will follow at a later date – we will inform you in good time. Naturally, existing systems using R134a can continue to be operated as usual.
